The wild cat a flagship species
After more than 1,000 years of absence, the wildcat has returned to the Netherlands. A stable population now lives in the southernmost part of Limburg. This sturdy cat is slowly moving northwards on velvet paws. In order to spread, connections with sufficient hiding places and food are needed. ARK is working on robust connections that will benefit not only the wildcat, but also other animals. ARK illustrator Jeroen Helmer brought the world of the wildcat to life.
