The red deer a keystone species
Along with other grazers, the red deer plays a vital role in nature. Through their browsing, pruning and grazing, red deer create a semi-open, varied landscape where many plants and animals thrive. ARK illustrator Jeroen Helmer has captured this so-called key role in a stunning illustration.
